About Me

PERSONAL PROFILE

Since I began my professional journey I’ve been lucky to have had the opportunity to collaborate on some exciting solo and collaborative projects. I take pride in all that I do and in the long-term relationships I’ve fostered in the process. I firmly believe that hard work eventually pays off, and I know that each day brings me closer to reaching my goals. Explore my portfolio, and feel free to get in touch with any questions.

About Me

Vision

My life-long vision is to become a sophisticated and influential Computer Scientist, such as the renowned Yann LeCun in CNNs.
I aspire to contribute to society through Computer Science applications to ease & enhance people's lives through research.

Mission

I will persevere to be at the technological frontier and continue to do research and testing of brilliant ideas to uphold my values of Technical Excellence and Accomplishment.

About Me
Running

Running

I love the outdoors.
I do Track 'n' Field and Cross Country. To me, running is a way to relax, to refresh, and to reset myself. My letting my mind free, I am able to discover new ideas and broaden my horizon.

Even so, when I am running long distance, I believe if I am not pushing harder, I am slowing down. I carry this belief with me in all my studies, work, and life, and this makes me determined to achieve more.

Photography

Photography

It's cliché to say that Photography is all about capturing moments. To me, Photography teaches me that our work will never always be perfect. In fact, maybe only 1 in 100 shots are worth it. Yet, to be able to get great work done, you have to keep trying. This is not only in photography, but in life.

TILT-SHIFT

Here is another gallery of photos I have taken that emphasize the use of Tilt-shift, a technique used to make subjects appear small.

Music

Music

I enjoy playing the guitar and piano in my spare time.
Music is a way to express the soul. I play songs ranging from classical to pop to rock and much more. Some of my favourite artists/bands are Coldplay, Rise Against, Ed Sheeran, and Imagine Dragons.

I have also picked up a bit of drumming. I especially love the song Dabin - Alive (ft. RUNN) and transcripted the drums.

Mountain Climbing

Mountain Climbing

City Scape

I love to climb mountains, and this is a picture from the peak of the second tallest mountain in the Philippines. I have also climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan.

A reason I love mountain climbing is that it requires planning, and it can be both a tiring and pleasant journey to the top.

Sculptures

City Scape
City Scape

This is a sculpture I modelled from the Piranha Plant from Super Mario games.

Workspace

Standing at 1.27m tall, my Eiffel Tower sculpture is a 1:236 scale model of the iconic Eiffel Tower. It is made entirely out of cotton buds and put together with superglue. It contains 3,052 cotton buds with over 7,630 connections.

The form of the plant, with its head facing forward and its mouth wide open, fashions the animated ferocity that is embodied by this adversary in the games.

My Patisserie

I also love to cook and bake all types of goods, from cakes, cookies, French macarons, soufflés, crème brûlées, you name it!

A meal prepared.

My Patisserie

CHOCOLATE FRENCH MACARONS

Chewy on the inside, crunchy on the outside. These chocolate french macarons were incredibly difficult to make, but nonetheless they were delicious in the end.

CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

Soft-baked chocolate brownies with buttercream icing topped with sugar pearls.

CRÈME BRÛLÉE

These crème brûlées are creamy treats with crunchy sugary crusts to finish.

STRAWBERRY FRENCH MACARONS

Strawberry heart-shaped macarons filled with a strawberry purée filling.

This is a mixed media painting of shoes on a liquid-like surface with dashes of pink to represent rose petals.

LADY BY THE TREE

This painting is a mix of traditional and contemporary chinese art. The tree uses the traditional chinese ink style while the lady is from a sculpture of a reclining woman.

PENTAGON IN FIRE

This is a painting that utilizes the use of geometric and organic shapes, to put together the rigid and natural life.

GEOMETRIC SHAPES

This painting is a mix of geometric shapes in a background of organic patterns of ink.

Computer Programming

Computer Programming

City Scape

One of my hobbies is computer programming. I like to program on Excel VBA, but I also work often on Python and Arduino.

Below are some Excel programs I made. Take a look at them and try them out if you are interested!

City Scape

This is a program I made entirely for fun. Just select any difficult and press "New Game". It may take a while to generate the board. Once ready, you can select any number on the bottom row and click empty boxes to fill that number in. If you want to remove a number you wrote down, you can double tap it to erase.

SUDOKU

Workspace

This is a program I made to generate words for a game called "SpellSpire" on the Apple App Store. It works for word searching purposes outside of the game as well. Just list down the letters you have from left to right in column 2 and click "Search". The words will appear below with the longest words shown first. The program works by searching the words from a dictionary in the second worksheet in the file.

WORD FINDER

Graphs

Ever had trouble finding your common free time with group members? This program can help! This only works for HKUST students. If you ask them to send you their class schedule from SIS in a single line of text, you can put them in any cell in the file, make sure they are selected, and then click "check class". It will print out all the classes and the time slots you have free in common will be left as white. The other button, "check availability", will print out the name of the person on the time slots where they do not have classes, and you can do this for multiple people to see who are available on this or that time slot.

These are some photos of the plants I have grown at my dormitory and house. I started with plastic bottles as a recycling method to plant these.
