SPRING TERM HAPPY HOUR

I volunteered to be a person-in-charge of the Spring Term Happy Hour for the Eagle team of REDbird during the REDbird Leadership Development Camp with Shanel Lim, and it has been months since then. Weeks before the event date, we gathered opinions about the availability preferences of our team members for what kind of event we wanted to host. Eventually, we stuck with a barbeque at the seafront of our university. While organizing the details of the event, we kept and open mind of what type of food and drinks our team wanted at our event, and asked them for their opinions before we bought everything for the event, and thanks to the help of a few other members, namely Sam, Felix, Linh, and Tavish, we were able to purchase the necessary food, beverages and equipment as the event day approached.

As the barbeque began, we had to set up all the fire, but this seemed to be the biggest challenge above planning the whole event altogether. Although it took a while, we as a team tried many different ways and had many attempts to light the fire. Eventually, with the support of Ms. Wing Mak, our chief trainer, we were able to get the fire burning and enjoy the food we had prepared. It was a really enjoyable time, a time to relax, enjoy food, and share some laughs. It was also great to see support from our second year members, Ariel, Linh, and Kathy. It was a time for us members to know more about each other and share more of our stories to each other. From the success of the event, I hope it was able to help bring the members of our community closer.
